1.1 Who we are
Dutch Together is a sole proprietorship operated by Tim Biervliet, established in Colombia. We provide online Dutch lessons to private individuals and companies worldwide.

1.2 What data we collect
We only collect what is necessary to teach you and invoice you correctly:
- Name, email address and phone number (via Calendly when booking a lesson)
- Additional information you provide voluntarily (language goals, level, motivation)
- Payment data is processed exclusively by our payment partners (Wise, PayPal); we only receive payment confirmation
- Email and chat correspondence you have with us
- IP address and browser data only insofar as recorded by third parties (Calendly iframe, Google Fonts) — we place no analytics cookies of our own
1.3 Why we use your data
- To schedule, confirm and deliver lessons
- To communicate with you (lesson materials, reminders, answers to your questions)
- To process payments and issue invoices
- To comply with legal obligations (Colombian bookkeeping requirements)
1.4 Who we share your data with
We share your data only with parties necessary for the service:
- Calendly (booking platform — USA, GDPR-compliant)
- PayPal (payments — Luxembourg)
- Wise (bank transfers — Belgium/UK)
- Google Workspace (email and files — USA, GDPR-compliant)
We never sell your data and do not use it for third-party marketing purposes.
1.5 How long we keep your data
- Lesson data and correspondence: as long as the teaching relationship lasts + 2 years
- Bookkeeping data (invoices): 5 years (legal retention period in Colombia)
- Unbooked trial lesson requests: maximum 6 months
1.6 Your rights
Under Colombian law Ley 1581 de 2012 (Habeas Data) and, for EU residents, under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your data
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data deleted ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to processing
- Lodge a complaint with the Colombian Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio or, for EU residents, with your national supervisory authority (in the Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens)

1.7 Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), two-factor authentication on our accounts and limit data access to those who need it.
