Terms & Conditions

Version 1.0 — 27 April 2026

2.1 Company details

Dutch Together — sole proprietorship of Tim Biervliet

2.3 Applicability

These terms apply to all lessons, packages and agreements between Dutch Together and the customer.

2.4 Services

Dutch Together provides online private Dutch lessons, individually or in small groups, for private individuals and companies. Lessons are delivered via video link (Google Meet, Zoom or similar).

2.5 Booking and payment

2.6 Cancellation and rescheduling (flexible)

Our cancellation rules are intentionally flexible:

2.7 No-show

If the customer fails to appear without notice, the lesson is considered taught. Maximum waiting time by the teacher: 15 minutes.

2.8 Cancellation by Dutch Together

In rare cases (illness, technical issues), a lesson may be cancelled by Dutch Together. In that event we offer a new time slot or refund the lesson within 14 days.

2.9 Free trial lesson

The free trial lesson (20 minutes) can be booked once per person. After booking, you'll receive a message asking you to confirm the trial lesson; if you don't do this at least 24 hours in advance, the trial lesson will be automatically cancelled. If you fail to appear without notice, the trial lesson lapses after a 5-minute waiting period (for regular lessons the waiting period is 15 minutes, see 2.7). If you decide not to continue after the free trial lesson, no obligations arise.

2.9b Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

For EU consumers, Directive 2011/83/EU provides a statutory cooling-off period of 14 days from the conclusion of the agreement. Lessons taken during this period are settled proportionally; the remainder is refunded within 14 days. After this 14-day period, only the flexible cancellation rules of article 2.6 apply.

In addition, the customer always retains the right to a full refund if Dutch Together is unable to deliver the agreed lessons (see article 2.8).

2.10 Liability

Dutch Together makes every effort to deliver quality. We are not liable for indirect damages (e.g. unmet exam results). Our total liability is limited to the amount the customer paid for the lesson or package concerned.

2.11 Intellectual property

Lesson material prepared by Dutch Together remains the property of Dutch Together. It may be used for personal learning purposes but not shared or commercially reused without written permission.

2.12 Complaints

Complaints can be submitted by email to info@dutchtogether.nl. We aim to respond within 14 days.

2.13 E-book and learning platform with lesson package

The 10- and 20-lesson packages include an e-book and access to the NT2 School learning platform by Boom Uitgevers (1-year licence). This is provided once per student and cannot be exchanged for a discount, cash, or another product.

2.14 Changes

Dutch Together may amend these terms. The most recent version is always available on the website. For ongoing packages, the terms in effect at the time of booking apply.

E-book and learning platform licence

The e-book and access to the NT2 School learning platform by Boom Uitgevers included in certain lesson packages are provided once per student, under a personal, non-transferable licence for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase. After this period, the right to use them expires. The e-book and platform access may not be shared, reproduced or resold.
